Snacking for your health and not against it

Snacking while on a diet is not an easy thing. I know how it is to find yourself swinging open the pantry doors in hopes of finding something you can open quickly to feed yohunger-413685_640ur inner munchies, only to realize you have to make something in order to have what was supposed to be a quick snack. Having to make a snack can be a good thing and a bad thing. Good being if you have to work for it you may resist over eating on snack food and bad being that you are more inclined to reach for the potato chip bag in frustration. Snacking can he especially hard when you are not consuming processed foods that have been already prepared for you. The trick is to make snacks to have on hand for those times you need a quick pick me up. You can make a batch of cookies or “nut-ola” bars when your feeling up to it for the times when you have the urge to snack but don’t feel like getting in the kitchen and making a snack. Dried fruit and nuts mix

I find that it’s cheaper to buy nuts, dried fruit, shredded coconut, etc separate and make your own fruit and nut mix rather than buying an already prepared trail mix.


Fermented fruit and Vegetables

Fermented pickles, Bubbies is my favorite brand.



Most of the baked goods that are considered desserts are so full of protein that I eat them for snacks as well as desserts.
